Spotted mars earlier while I was stargazing, pretty neat, but I wish I had a telescope powerful enough to resolve actual details instead of my shitty 7x35 binoculars.

Did you know that UFO sightings have been increasing in the past few months?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=87PRVP4EQAo

Also, the Canadian government have already publicly announced they have made contact with Aliens.

Thoughts?
I'm curious to see where this goes in the next few months.

If you can multitask while baked, then EVE online is kinda like being baked in space.

But yeah, I'm totally following you. Or experiencing a sunrise on another planet while high.

What is more challenging/difficult: linear algebra or calc 3?

Pic related. Math got a rover on Mars. That's right. That's a sunrise. On another planet. Do you realize how awesome that is?

How hard is it to get into a Masters program?

I'm currently a junior in college at a fairly prestigious university but I fucked up HARD my first two years. There are reasons for it but I don't want to give excuses. It was so bad I almost got kicked out of school. Now I've gotten my shit together and have been working my ass off to bring my GPA up, but I fear that it won't ever recover from the damage I did to it.

So what I want to know is how hard is it to get into a masters program. What will I need to do to get into one? I'm afraid that if they look at my GPA they'll just instantly reject me.

Fuck the big bang.

Why is the theory that everything has always been and always will be so frowned upon. Sure, t will be ever changing, but why does there need to be a definitive "start", it seems so pointless. I mean, is it just because people are afraid of "infinity"? Maybe it doesn't even need to be infinity, just longer than we as humans can comprehend or something. I don't know, im probably not making sense but whatever, I would like to discuss this.

Hey /sci/, I don't know where to post this so I'm gonna post it here because it involves criminology sort of, and criminology is a subset of sociology which isn't technically a science but its close enough. Anyway...

Say a man kills another man for some reason. Doesn't matter how, just that the victim is found 3 hours after it happens. The police have say a 97 chance of finding out who the killer is, and if they do indeed find out it would take them whatever the average time it usually takes. The killer flees the scene and attempts to leave the country. What is the best way to do this? He has a car, a cellphone, a laptop, enough money for a one way plane ticket, and a legitimate passport.

(I don't intend on killing anyone obviously, I just feel that if a situation were to arise knowledge on the timing/how to get out of the country in a hurry would be of a great help)

may be a simple answer, but i dont know where to start
friend has a wireless keyboard and always complains about it running out of battery power. i want to make it so that it can be plugged into the wall and run off that power. i was thinking it would be easy enough to take a 9v converter and do something with it but i dont know where to start, any ideas?

I need some help, /sci/. I'm a senior in high school, and I'm taking regular physics. The unit we're on now deals with F=MA, inertia, friction, normal forces, free-body diagrams, that kind of stuff. To give you an idea of what specifically, most of the questions we do are things like "A 2 kilogram box rests on a slant 22 degrees from the ground, find the coefficient of static and kinetic friction, etc". I got a 95% on the last test, vectors, but as far as this unit goes, I feel like I missed a couple of days, or something. In class, we do all these problems that everybody seems to have, over night, figured out how to do. I don't remember my teacher ever even explaining the process for how to find these things. We have a test tomorrow, and I just don't know what to do here. I don't get it. The advice I'm giving myself would be just to study the material, but I don't think that's enough. I took the time to read a lot of the more conceptual things involving what we're doing, but I still really don't understand or know the processes I have to do in order to find the coefficient of static friction, or whatever the fuck.

Can anyone give me advice, or something? Thanks guys, I'd really appreciate this.

It's year 2025 and you're given the opportunity to be one of the first to settle Mars. It's a one-way trip and you can take your family with you. If you have no children, reproduction on Mars is expected. (If you aren't straight, you'll be the only token faggot there.) There will be about 20 new settlers every 5 years.
You'll be working on the station until your death.

Would you do it?
