Yeah thats why the quality of our food and water has improved steadily over the past few decades and why policy focus is on real threats to our society like the fucking disastrous psychological effects of public education, the annihilation of the family, dangerous, environmental dangers like pollutants and urban sprawl, real and immediately viable solutions to the energy crisis like nuclear energy, as opposed to fringe bullshit diversions like "anthropogenic global warming", the further expansion of the welfare state, the expansion of the school system as we know it, wind and solar, meaningless social 'issues' like transsexuals and instituting 'democracy'...
