Hello /sci/

What the fuck was with that movie Cloverfield? I just finished watching it because my friend said it was so good. But I mean, what the fuck. They didn't tell you anything about it. They didn't tell you what it was, where it came from, why it was attacking, what those things falling off of it were, why they were attacking people, why people's brains exploded after it bit them, and most importantly of all, how the fuck the thing didn't die after being carpetbombed by a fucking B-2 Spirit

E=mc^2. We all know that. So, how do lasers have energy? I mean, if a photon's mass is 0, then 0 multiplied by the speed of light in a vacuum squared would still be 0. So how do lasers create their energy? Is there something in lasers besides photons?
