Yeah it's supposed to look like picrel because spacetime is affected in three dimensions and not a flat plane. I think the flat plane is just an analogy but it's a misleading visualization

It's the same kind of thing with gravity affecting spacetime. Pretty much every single illustration is that distorted flat plane ball on a sheet thing which makes no sense at all when trying to understand what's actually happening. I was able to find the animation in picrel recently though which is how it should look. I was looking for 3d electromagnetism animations or pictures just a few days ago though and couldn't find anything either

It looks like this in 3d. The 3d view is much easier to see what's happening than the typical 2d plane that people usually show
