I'm not motivated by science or mathematics.

I like them. I was above average at them, understood what I was being taught in lessons and, if I'm honest, was better at it than most people in my classes (I was in top sets and all that). However, because I found it numb-skullingly boring, I could never sum up the willpower to revise or study. Of course, this lead to me dropping behind and ultimately failing my first year of A-levels. I didn't revise for my GCSE's either, but I sailed through them with A's.

I'm just curious - do you do maths and science because you actually enjoy doing it? Or do you do it for the money? I can't understand how are people are motivated by it in this day and age, when the biggest scientific discovery in a long time has been the Higgs Boson - and that's hardly something that's making me people leap out of their seats.

Eh, I'd just like to know. I'm doing a Sports Btech next year, because I love sports. It gets my adrenalin pumping, heart racing, makes me into a whole other person. I don't think I'll ever get that from academics.

Also, for those of you who are interested: If you had a tube of marbles a light-year long, and pushed the marbles at one end along by one (somehow), would it take a year for the marble at the other end to fall out?
