Abstract math is still rooted in logic and is every bit as rock solid as any "useful" math. "Speculative" philosophy is just windbags bloviating about whatever random crap they happen to believe and publishing it.

The problem I have with intelligent design,( as a layman inthe field of biology), is the fact that the "other option" is Christianity/religion.

If there would be something else, something not written by old men 2000 years ago, it would be different.
