Honestly if you have the shit to back up what you can do I don't think it's going to be a problem. If HR throws you out because you're a physics major it's probably a shitty company. Here in the US we have DoD requirements for some jobs. So take a company like Raytheon or Lockheed, they don't give a fuck what you majored in as long as you have the cert to meet DoD standards.
I took a screen shot of the Information Assurance Technical tiers because they're the more entry level role. Get Security+ ASAP.
I got my Security+ after only studying for 18 days, and this makes me eligible for Level II jobs. Security+ is the easiest cert to get Level II eligibility.
