>Be happy 18 year old about to start math college in the third best university in the country
>Full of hopes and dreams
>First day of college
>'hum, it's awesome'
>One month in
>'those professors are terrible, all I do is procrastinate all day, I'm fucked'
>No friends
>Isolated in class
>Low grades on the first tests
>'it's ok, it's just because of my procrastination, I'll get better results next tests'
>Keeps procrastinating
>Low grades again
>Fails all classes except for one
>Depression
>Drops college
>Becomes a NEET for three years, spends all day playing videogame, watching anime and wasting time in the internet
>Forgets entirely about calculus and anything learned at college
>Asks on /sci/ if late starters can succeed in the academy
>Everyone is supernice and supportive
>'I can't keep living like that, I need to change, I need to go back'
>Now 21, goes back to math college again
>'new start, hell yeah, this time I'm gonna make it'
>Procrastination
>Depression
>'at least now I made some friends and I'm getting better grades this time around'
>2 years passes, I'm doing fine, nothing special
>See all my 18 year old friends getting ahead of me
>Some of them already been called to a masters
>Some of them will end college in three years
>Some of them will end it in the normal 4 years
>Takes me 5 years to finish it
>No one gave me a single compliment during my time there
>No professor gave a single fuck about me there
>They all wanted to advise my younger friends
>No job
>Not accepted for a PhD or a masters
>Starts living in subhuman conditions on a 5m room in my aunt's apartment
>All my friends are already progressing in their careers, they might become academics pretty soon
Understand now? I was blinded to the harsh reality, there's nothing stopping me? EVERY FUCKING PROFESSOR IS STOPPING ME. No one gives a fuck about some late starter with average grades, I tried, it's over now.
