>What time do you personally think that will be happening around?
My honest professional opinion is that I don't know. There are a lot of things that have to work in concert for this to happen, especially with starship being so large and so complex. A million things have to work correctly and only one of them has to fail in the wrong spot at the wrong time to cause a cascading failure. This is as true of systems of people as it is of rockets.
Elon doing twitter stuff is worrisome to me, not because of what he posts, but because I pray he is capable of splitting his attention enough to keep SpaceX chugging.
>Also, is SpaceX is serious about the Mars stuff?
Taking all of the above into account, I still am resolute in my conviction that Mars will happen. It must happen. There are so many people here who would lay their lives on the line for the mission. Many do, by sacrificing their personal lives, sleep schedule, alcohol tolerance, sanity, and most of all, time. I have never worked at a place so brimming with motivated people, with so much accomplished by so few. The only way Mars doesn't happen is by some massive, external force, but that may only extinguish the company, not the people. The people who work here work as one, and I have no doubt that even if SpaceX as a company were destroyed, some other organization would carry the torch, fueled by the same insane people.
