>ok so there seems to be a bit of a useless argument going on here. i vote that we change the scenario to this :
you are a lone test pilot in a super advanced wormhole traversing faster than light drive space ship. you are way the fuck off course and nowhere even close to earth. your ship is about to go nuclear and these aliens come by and notice that
1. this ship is about to explode and
2. there is something that might be alive on it.
being good galactic citizens they beam(just accept that for arguments sake) you onto their ship seconds before the whole thing is vaporized. they only got a half assed scan of the atmosphere inside the ship and so the air mixture is not quite right.
you wake up in an observation room with writing implement and paper like stuff or a touch screen or something. doesn't really matter.

You have only a matter of days until suffocation, dehydration, or starvation sets in.

How do you tell them what you need to live?
