not to sound like an edgelord but suffering is a big reason for the existence of consciousness. "You" essentially exist in order to decide on which signals to send to your muscles, for instance ignoring the part of your brain screaming at you to stop and end the pain when you are 8 reps into a 10 rep squat routine. If there was no conflict between different parts of your brain and you didn't have to endure the suffering this creates there would be no reason for "you" as a conscious entity to exist.

At least maybe, it could work some other way but this one is fairly likely. Even if it's true I wouldn't say a great reduction of suffering is impossible, we arent exactly optimized for this existence (but the question then becomes what degree of optimization would strip us of what is human).
