Serious question, /sci/.

Why hasn't it ever been observed a microchip or another complex structure develop itself and evolve in the wild? Take a cell, for example. It is way more complex than a microchip yet it came into existence by pure chance. Why can't microchips do the same?

Truth is...complex structures don't just randomly appear out of nowhere. They need to be designed.
