A question, /sci/:

In relation to a current thread on human intelligence and the general trend I noticed while observing similar topics, I have noticed a lot of /sci/entists think animals are not sapient. Does anyone that believes this ever have a pet?

Also, general animal cognitive discussion.

Is it possible for one's immune system to react to a false alarm?
A friend of mine claims that after he got food poisoning, he became feverish and displayed symptoms of stomach flu, as if his body mixed up the two. His symptoms only lasted a day apparently.

What is creativity in science?

If you notice, it is ingenuity, out of the box thinking, innovative, original ideas that made everything we see today in arts sciences culture etc.

The wheel, the spear etc were all creative, out of the box etc.

Einstein's relativity was creative, so Darwin's and everyone's else.

Creativity is the reason we have breakthroughs, instead of strict hiveminded thought that if you study more you will get smarter and discover something awesome.

What is the nature of creativity according to yourself?

Okay sci, If I build a 3 light years long rod, then poke someone by moving the rod, would they feel it instantly, and thus, the information be traveling at the speed of light? Not a troll just curios as to the mechanics of information traveling non-electromagnetically over that distance

Pic non-related

Agreed, I think around 80% of the world's scientific knowledge is written or translated into Russian. The greatest amount by far, which is quite funny, since English is considered the "world language".

>Can someone explain my friends' side or are they brainwashed and as stupid as cows?
If your friends grew their own food or bought local produce then their arguments would be stronger.

Picture tangentially related.
