>No society survives long enough to advance to such a technological level.
Literally zero examples to show this. Unless you mean to distinguish between Earth societies which is retarded in this context, since mankind in general has steadily and inexorably improved over time.

>We've only been an advanced technological society for 100 years at best ad we've almost destroyed ourselves multiple times.
What kind of arbitrary measure and definition did you use to declare that there's an "advanced" threshold and that we crossed it a century ago? Again, we only have ourselves to behold.

Who am I kidding, you're one of those "hyoomans r meen n dum" edge rangers.

Masturbation thread.

So I've deduced this logically, but I'm too lazy to see what experiments have shown (if they have been conducted). Masturbation should increase oxidative stress in cells producing fluids and whatever else that contribute to the formation of semen. Shouldn't masturbation, even just once a day, therefore be detrimental?

Pic unrelated.

I'm subbing basic physics and physics AP tomorrow in a high school. I'm an English teacher, but I need the money. There's a lesson plan, but it's gonna leave a buttload of time. Any recommendations for 20-25 minutes at the end of a lab on atoms?

What's so bad about futurism and transhumanism? It's just good natured speculation about what technology might be able to do by extrapolating from current trends and scientific knowledge. If anything, it'll help people by allowing them to plan for dramatic shifts to the status quo.

I do agree that most discussions regarding futurism/transhumanism should be met with skepticism (as should everything) but most predictions seem plausible if not probable given how technology has already progressed.

Does /sci/ know how many password characters it takes for a turecrypt file to be deemed unrecoverable? I read somewhere that 100-some-character passwords are unbreakable, or would just take too much time even with resources readily available to the government, Does /sci/ know the margin?

Damnit, I just started exercising a couple months ago.

But point 7 woul've gotten me anyway. What's /sci/'s deal with transhumanists?
