Can anyone intuitively explain Abel's theorem to a retard? What's so special about 5? Why do equations of equal or higher degree not have solutions in radicals? I know that this sounds like i'm asking for the proof. i don't, i just want some intuition behind this theorem. Should i just accept this as fact or is there some deeper meaning here?
