At least the brush pen nerds actually have shit that looks nice and since brush pens aren't meant to be used quickly they know to switch to other mediums for scratch work and stuff.

pic related, mfw every time I look at notes written by a math student who uses a fancy notebook and a pen (especially a fountain pen) they're always covered in ink blotches, ink smears, and disgustingly crossed out content. Pencil users may have a few smears and erasure marks but they don't have crossed out stuff and they're never afraid to write something down and explore.

The idea, when you compute an infinite sum isn't that you're actually summing up an infinite number of terms. Rather the idea is that you're finding the point where the sum converges. This is kind of roundabout but it's a very reasonable thing to do in lieu of not being able to compute an actual infinite sum.
