Hey /sci/ it's my first time on this board, didn't even know there was a science and math board. Would you say this was the most dangerous board? I mean browsing through you all seem to be highly intelligent since there was a lot I didn't understand. This concerns me as 4chan is full of psychopaths who are one bad look away from a school shooting.
Is this board the same or are you lot normal people?

>You can't be racist because 'biologically' races don't exist...
Racism can also refer to the social concept of race, which is much broader than the biological one.

Biological race is an informal taxonomic rank (equivalent to subspecies or breed) and describes distinct phenotypic populations within the same species.

>There are just correlations involving groups of individuals that express some traits( ie. skin color) and also express other traits
To me this sounds similar to distinct phenotypic populations.

Can someone please clarify to me scientific reasoning why during the 1970s there was a sudden shift that biological races among humans don't exist? What would be a better suited term to distinguish not only culturally (like ethnic groups) but also genetically?

The video oversimplifies, treats the viewer as stupid and wrongly interprets questionable claims. It definitely is not an appropriate scientific source.

As written above, race and breed are equivalent. In many languages the distinction isn't made, probably most notably German, where it's called Hunderassen (dog races). This could explain why so many people use this comparison.

Honestly, I can't remember the last time I used the term race outside of 4chan. Still, I can't understand why general biological, sometimes even cultural differences are often taboo and mentioning them regularly leads to unjustified and exaggerated backlash and even censorship.

My stance on the issue is that racism is wrong and you should judge the individual not by stereotypes. However, it is a scientific fact that there are general differences, both genetic and cultural, between different populations, just as there are biological differences between sexes aside from genitalia, which lead to different average behavior, physical appearance or intelligence. Denying them is just as unscientific as misusing them, for example to justify racism or sexism.
