Fossil fuels will run out in 20-odd years. Wind and solar power each have its own problems and nuclear cold fusion will not make it in time.

Is it feasable to have everything running on uranium/thorium? Or does that have it's own problems?

Some things I said might be false, but the thread is not about that, it's about the question.

I recently heard something about thorium as a nuclear fuel. Now I looked up some information about it and it doesn't look like uranium has any advantages over thorium (aside from bombs and that we are used to it). Does /sci/ know any other downsides of thorium, or aren't there any?
