How to even the social gap between your smart students and dumb students in math class: Troll them with two or three misprinted problems that don't actually count towards their grade, but they won't know that and everyone will end up spending all their time trying to solve it instead of bothering you. This results in dumb students believing they do better by finishing the test before the 'smart' students, or at least feel that the test was justifiably hard because it took everyone until the end of class, which will make them think they are doing better and inspire them to learn more now that they think they have a chance.
