Engineers want to select between several design choices for a fast adder.
Design A has delay time 2nT, design B has delay time 6Tdlog4(n)e + 8T
and design C has delay time 4Td

which design should be chosen for each adder size and why?

If you drilled a hole to the center of the earth (which isn't hollow by the way), in the ocean, the water would drain to it.
it depends on the size of the hole, and if you carved out a place for the water to go to. Assuming there's a place for the water to go, you can model the behavior with a differential equation.

Change in water in the Ocean per second =
amount of water going down hole per second =
[eq relating water to size of hole]
assuming you made a hole big enough for
100/gallons per second, it would take
343,423,668,428,484,681,262/ 100 seconds.

So it would take 1.1 *10^11 years for the water to drain out.
