CONUNDRUM

Is philosophy a science?
Or is science a branch of philosophy?
And who decides what a given word means?

Hello /sci/,

I am a product of the education system in the USA from to 1991 to 2009. Educated in Molecular Genetics at a large university.

I believe it needs a complete overhaul in order to accommodate the changing times, even though we are in a renascence right now the "environment" still changes a lot, so sporadic that every country has had a hard time keeping pace at some point in time.

We need to accommodate all sorts of types of people with different brains and general capabilities.

I VOTE:

- accelerate all learning by making it more efficient. dont make something hard to absorb, collect data and figure new ways to teach with different forms of media. and organize it so the brain can comprehend it easier (e.g. atomic physics/chem 1st grade, more chem 2nd grade, THEN biology. Have a cartoon hippo teach physics if you think its needed, but dont make a concept more difficult for the students to understand because it is hard to explain.

Calculus in grade school - derivatives ARE fun and like a new language, they say languages should be taught young, so calculus must as well

Also somewhere in between grades 1-10 we need to properly expose them to the world so they know what kind of opportunities. SO they can spend grades 10-12, mimicking what they want to do in the world

So /sci/ and other Anonymous. What do you Think? What is the perfect 1st-12th grade education like in your eyes?
