I care because I don't want to start the first practical with what the professor is saying barely registering in my brain, then hovering around the given apparatus trying to figure out what to do any almost if not actually sending stuff flying and doing most things incorrectly. Practicals make me anxious as heck and I'm a year behind as is it, I don't want to make a bad impression and be seen by them and others as a being someone who isn't remotely interested or only half-concerned with the projects at hand when in fact I am very much consumed by them to the extent where it feels like a life/ death situation - examinations are fine, taking lecture notes is fine, drafting labs and reports, again, fine. But when I have to set stuff up properly it makes me head spin.
