No, I was invited to spend 24 hours aboard a 4 man prototype underwater habitat in 2012. While there I will be experimenting with a bioregenerative life support system of my own design.

Yup. It's really a question of where the energy comes from. Hydrothermal vents supply heat and gases that allow specialized ecosystems to thrive around them, but elsewhere you find mainly lethargic opportunistic predators and 'grazers' that live on marine snow.

It's the predators I'm interested in.
