This means that all things being equal and assuming equal treatment, men should be heavily overrepresented in fields such as math of physics, which require high intelligence. If you simply compare the average results among men and women, you see that women and men have roughly equal ability, maybe women slightly better.

However the very ends of the spectrum are dominated by men because of the insane variability of our genes. We are the greatest retards and the greatest geniuses. Very rarely do women deviate so much from the mean. I’ve seen it myself as a math teacher. All the girls are generally ok and don’t give you much trouble, but there are more truly outstanding pupils among boys, and many many more boys than girls who completely bomb their math.

How true is the variability hypothesis? Do men really display a greater variance in personalities and traits while women are generally the same?
