this is pretty well known. later in life he started doing some schizo nonsense with alchemy but it makes sense. if he had lived longer then he would have eventually discovered chemistry as well. dude was a genius and what he accomplished in math and physics was already several orders of magnitude beyond what everyone else was doing at the time.
