Why does everyone here hate philosophy? It's a legitimate scientific field. Also as someone that is pursuing a philosophy degree from my local Community College, I feel personally insulted.

I'm tired of physicists (or worse, physics majors) behaving as if they have the authority to speak on every scientific field.

You don't. Your knowledge of stars and atoms doesn't mean you have anything more than a basic understanding of biology or psychology, so stop.
