Kaku is the smartest by far outta all of them, his career started during the cold war era where his intellectual brilliance was recognized by the likes of Teller. He made some decent contributions but unfortunately gave up on research for publicity more than 20 years ago. Cox is just your run-of-the mill physics PhD who has a talent for music, and presenting popsci docos. Nye and Tyson aren't even scientists, with the latter only publishing 9 papers after getting his PhD before doing publicity.
