Air breathing aqueous sulfur batteries could BTFO pumped hydro and 'gravity batteries.' They'd be made mostly from sulfur and sulfur is FUCKING CHEAP! We have huge pyramids of it in Alberta, because it's cheaper to dispose of the sulfur in a fucking pyramid than to actually sell it.

power to gas for gridscale? What a joke. What a complete joke. You see anon flow batteries can already store electricity for months or more. There's even a new battery in the works called an air breathing aqueous sulfur flow battery. It stores a reasonable amount of electricity, but the real advantage is that it consist principally of sulfur. Sulfur is CHEAP! Sulfur is so cheap that we have huge pyramids of it because that's the only economical way to dispose of it. We could make HUUUUUUUUGEEEEE cheap batteries.

There are other flow battery chemistries out there anon.
