Hey /sci/
Newfag here, and I'm trying really hard to imagine alien lifeforms in my head from the bottom up, and I keep reaching the same conclusion that life is going to evolve very similarly to life on Earth no matter where it evolves in the universe.


Reason #1: In order for life to begin, molecules have to exist in a stagnant enough environment in order to combine and become living micro-organisms(cells). Now, to my understanding, the only place stagnant for long enough periods of time for these cells to be born would be a pool of some sort of liquid, because it allows for the molecules to swirl around long enough to bind together and form whatever might be necessary for metabolism in the cells(like amino acids and proteins in the development of life on Earth). I figured maybe the molecules could form on land or within a gaseous planet, but I realized that the environments would probably change too frequently for them to form without splitting apart.
