I start an engineering degree next week, but have always been pretty mediocre at stuff like Calculus.

Dear God, is there any hope, or am I eternally fucked?

TL;DR Can one get a masters in something without having a bachelors in that something?

Hi /sci/! I have a question for you all Well not me really, I'm really just finding out for my friend, let's call him Jules.

Jules despises everything to do with math, science, and computers (he doesn't even use the internet/a computer that much...) but loves everything to do with English and art history especially reading biographies of great artists, since its both reading and art.

So his plan is to get a bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering because he says it'll get him a job quick outta college with good pay too. That way he can have a job to pay for a living and to pay for graduate school to work on getting a masters (or PhD) in English or art history because those are his two passions, although he didn't get a bachelors degree in English or art history. So is it possible for him to do that, to get a masters for English even though he'll ONLY have a bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering?

If so, then should Jules just change his major altogether to English/art history double major and not find a job right outta college?

And he's also being a pussy because he's calling me and crying on the phone every time he has free time from trying to pass his classes because of difficulty and lack of passion, and because he barely has time to write for the newspaper or join art club.

>describe religion as a constraint for human behavior
>imply that this is an attribute unique to religion
>be ignorant of the fact that religion is just a set of moral rules like everything else and some illogical 'objective' deity as justification because you can't be bothered to defend your point in another way

I don't want to live in this world.

As a recent Highschool graduate considering pursuing engineering at University, this worries me somewhat.

Is engineering as fuckhard as everyone says it is? I've never been one of those 'natural genius' types, and so I've had to work at subjects such as Calculus and Physics to get sufficient results. I'm really scared of committing to an engineering degree, getting into student debt, and then finding out that I'm simply not smart enough..

Any advice/help on this would be greatly appreciated, thanks. (Shit, I hope I didn't just 'hijack' your thread anon - sorry it just seemed like an opportunistic moment)
