you want to find someone you can love and support, and who will love and support you, for the rest of your lives - through good times and bad, and there will be plenty of bad. You'll fight, you'll butt heads, and worse, but you will stay together and make it work.


real love isn't movie/pop song bullshit -- that's actually 'infatuation', the crazy "I found her!!!" feeling that only burns a short while.
don't make the mistake of believing that once that feeling is gone you're "not in love anymore".

Infatuation is the initial bonding.
Love is the COMMITMENT.
Love is staying the course, knowing you're in it for the long haul, being true to yourself and to her and to your children and to your vows.
It's never succumbing to the ruinous temporary temptation of other people.
It's never giving up and never letting her give up, either.
