I'm looking for formal, rigorous, self-contained texts on the basic areas of mathematics at the advanced undergrad/grad level that don't have unnecessary exposition or digressions on applications. I'm an undergrad and I'm having trouble finding books that don't either 1) assume an understanding of the basic undergrad curriculum in the reader or 2) have the author rambling about unnecessarily about motivation with pointless analogies while skipping over important details.

Linear time is false, cubic time is truth.
