A couple hundred years of colonial fucking usually does this to you. Not to mention the previously unstable governments sometimes even exacerbated by US economic/political intervention causing countries to fall into a continuous string of warlords with small bouts of destructive anarchy. Do you have any clue how hard it would be to try and run an honest business from the ground up in a place like Darfur?
