True. I'd just add that academics live in rich cities isolated from the hostilities of nature and surrounded by other relatively high IQ, educated people. This creates a cognitive bias and a specific set of incentives (you already addressed some of them) that make them more effeminate in their values and ignorant of the environment the rural and the less educated have to endure daily (including the raw underclassess of other ethnicities).
