/g/entooman here, I recently became interested in quantifying password strength while writing a quick password generator. Problem is, I'm kind of rusty on some of the mathematical aspects related to what I'm trying to do. So I have a few simple questions to help straighten out some of my doubts.

Would a 2-character password consisting of only lower case letters in the English alphabet have 26^2 possible combinations?

Let's say I add a number to the end of the password, since there are only 10 possible choices, would the number of possible combinations be 26^2 + 10 or 26^2 * 10?

Am I going full retard and have no idea what I am even talking about?
