am i just too stupid or this is some fucked up mental gymnastics that scientist came up to?
i read a lot about it and how experiments and math led to it but it still feels like it just made things even worse and more unreal
it created more problems that it tried to solve

i mean i respect the math that led to it right but what if our math is fundamentally wrong somewhere long before quantum theory

i dont want to say it but wtf this theory is like leading towards some God entity or some kind of pehnomenon that we manipulate the reality with our consciousness

So there is nothing? This universe and reality are just that and nothing else exists? Just this cruel and cold universe, everything wants to kill us, elements just bumb into each other randomly creating molecules,working together to live for the sake of living?

Hello anons, I am from eastern europe and I attend my local School of Electrical Engineering (there's one in every city here), my field is Automatics. After I finish education, I plan to get a high skilled workers visa in USA (which is my first bet), if not then UK or Australia. Is there any work in my field and how is the pay? Going to a foreign country is my only option since here there isn't any work for high skilled people. Much appreciated for any answers, I don't really have any contact with the western world apart from the web. The place in question is Balkans.

When you say in some sense what you really mean is in no meaningful sense as it can only prove the mind is influenced by environment not its nonexistence. I should have expanded on what I meant by semantics, ie it doesnt matter if behaviour is triggered by envrionment directly or the environment triggers ideas which triggers behaviour. I dont subscribe to the idea that the mind is real but being an edgelord about points that are as vaporous as "is reality real" is idiotic. Finally it is bad science to dismiss all of the ideas Freud had that turned out to be correct or likely correct because of the ones that werent, while ignoring that he literally invented psychoanalysis and all of his ideas from observation. Saying he wasnt a large influence on psychology is like saying NASA wasnt a large influence on space travel.

Considering this is a board dedicated to science and tech people spend a lot of time trashing on the scientific method if it doesnt involve rigorous mathematics as evidenced by your use of "exploring". If soft scientists start claiming rigor then they deserve to be shunned, but until someone comes up with a way of applying mathematics to absolutely every field of study this is the best anyone can do.

Why is there so many retards in our civilization?

How can movie and music industry earn so much revenue while their production quality is so low? Take a look at IMDb 8.0+ score movies, they are all so braindead, recently they made a movie with only 2 characters, rest was CGI, it has a rating of 7/10. Take a look at most popular music on youtube, it contains basic patterns like 1 3 2 3 3 3 2 1. Complex music such as liquid dnb with 3 subtracks and 1 main track is barely known to humans. I believe that most of humans don't even think for themselves, they just glue whatever is popular and accepted by the group, without any logical thinking. I fear that in the future, 99% of the civilization will be enslaved by an AI that is able to generate a movie/song based on people's information, which they gave out for free to botnets.

Why does the universe award dumb people for their achievements? If a dumb person works hard on something thats challenging for them they will be rewarded 10x more than if someone who finds that problem easy but works on something more complex.

How do you deal with the soul-crushing fact that a human brain is unable to comprehend and fully understand/apply knowledge on some subject? That a human PhD is just 0.0001% of what lies down the rabbit hole in that subject? That human value to reproduce even if you work at mcdonalds far outweights the value of pursuing a PhD in mathematics.

Whats the point of doing science/engineering? Humanity spent 50 years reverse engineering universe, physics, EE, math just to make a microphone and then comes some idiot with IQ 90 that is adored by brainwashed idiots and signs 3 words that are then autotuned on some PC and he earns millions just by singing 3 words while people that engineered all the technology that carried him earned on average $45k a year.

And that's just one example. Why should a monkey that is famous earn more money than someone who is smart? There are people playing videogames for living and earn $2million a year ( and they arent even good at it, 55% winrate at best) while average salary for nanoscientist is $100k???

Hey /sci/ please help me understanding these few stuff :

1) Electric field made by you and me (our electrons) is spreading into infinity into the universe , its just very very small the longer the distance is?Or its always zero due to "opposite" fields from other objects?

2)When I light a match , the air around becomes hot , so it begins to fly up (spread) due to heat? Does it only flies up or in all directions? Where does that heat "ends up" in the end? Since it cannot be destroyed right? Is it evenly distributed to air molecules up to the edge of our atmosphere?

3)Is Universe a hologram? :(
