>t. thinks science is about giving answers without evidence
But seriously though, DNA is a really simple molecule and I don't know why does it seem unnatural to you.
Polymers are simple and stable, DNA compounds were found in meteorites, so the molecule could easily emerge spontaneously.
If you think DNA is unnatural, see ATPase, which is in fact still natural.

Your mitochondria (the powerhouses of the cell) have little molecular machines in them that produce energy for your body to use from the sugars in the food you eat. The machines look like this if they were greatly magnified. Be sure to thank them.

Yes, but what about the intoxicating compounds that make such an otherwise unpleasant scent irresistable?

but you only describe the first step. but then what? what are the odds from something self replicating (as seen here which exists: >>10484389 ) to something so much more complex than a simple cell.
the only reason people actually think its possible is because we exist.

Is it possible to become a researcher in the field of molecular biology and genetics without passing through academia?

There is a lot of geothermal energy, but there is no way to make use of it.

If a steam engine is as hot as its surroundings the steam will not leave. In a similar way if an organism can't easily dispose of waste products they will build up, limiting how much useful energy it can use. A solid environment also limits the flow of nutrients.

Unlike the theory of intelligent design, we actually have a very visible and measurable vehicle for evolutionary processes called DNA. There is an entire fucking field of study based on this.

You're in luck OP, I got a 4.0 in Genetics and tutor it every day

For 22, it looks like it's y linked to the Y chromosome, so only the males can get the trait

For the others, just remember, autosomal recessive traits require one of the parents to have a trait if a child has it and both parents have to have an autosomal dominant for their kids to have it

Just looking to help a aspiring biologist since we totally need more in our field :^)

Glad to see this board has more microbiologists/infectious disease experts on it. On that note any advise for an undergrad student looking to study infectious diseases? I'm gravitating towards virology but I'm not totally set in stone.

The craziest thing is that for every structure like this ATP-synthase right here, there's something else responsible for making it.
