What benefit is there to entering a scientific career instead of learning a trade?

An electrician in NYC can expect to earn about 55k a year after two years of training, and upwards of 80k a year after a couple years of experience.

Not a troll thread, I'm just curious since most people going to university for science seem to be in it mainly for the money.

I don't understand...
It's not like school teaches you correct or relevant information anyway. Real learning, at least before university, is best done alone, isn't it?

Anyone studying for finals?
I was just reviewing the answer key to exams and noticed this
>key
>As shown in the scheme for the answer to Question B.3.a., the breakdown of glycine into NH3 and H4folate-CH2OH produces CO2, which immediately hydrates to HCO3- and H+. Thus, the glycine cleavage enzyme produces the bicarbonate that can be used catalytically by pyruvate carboxylase to produce OAA and then PEP.
>my answer
>Glycine already produces bicarbonate in its breakdown process by the cleavage enzyme.
>my score: 0/2

wut? I thought I did pretty well so I didn't really bother to check the answers, but wtf?
