Any Mechanical Engineers out there? I had a question: Do you use anything related to electric circuits in your job field? I am about to finish an electric circuits class and don't really see the importance of this in our future jobs (as mechanical engineers). Does this stuff show up anytime in the future in classes or on the job?

Why is the convention that electricity flows from the positive terminal to the negative? It just confuses things and it doesn't even happen. Why does science insist to follow such a strange convention?
