I'm not saying it's not important, I just think this rabid fixation on identity politics is an inherent part of capitalist ideology. Instead of pursuing their economic self-interest, the prevailing ideology has the workers align themselves with their race, gender, etc, and advocate for the interests of their in-group rather than their actual, material interests. Anything that divides the working class along identitarian lines preserves capitalism and class society.

All I'm saying is being invested in identity politics outside of class analysis as a means to make any real political change is misguided. That doesn't mean you should do nothing when liberals try to push their idpol garbage. By all means, shoot that shit down.
