Do Americans really?
In Europe no one does calculus in college/uni. Everyone goes str8 to analysis(they skim over the basics of integration and derivatives, you are supposed to learn them on your own. Instead they teach you all the autistic theorems and shit).

Same goes for high school. My high school "calc" class was named Analysis and it was a bunch of proofs and shit.
