>believe in mystical notion

No.

Something bad may happen to you anyway, but it will either be by chance or by the person you've wronged or their acquaintances. Or of course if by doing something "wrong," you flat-out break your local laws then you'll invite more direct intervention.

Karma does not exist, but social justice and retribution do.

The more people you wrong, the more likely it is that you'll have crossed someone who will retaliate.

Education should be focused on making sure the above-average students get a good start. It shouldn't be focused to making sure the below-average students appear less stupid on test scores.

It's real, though. Somewhere in the deep black abyss, one of these creatures is writhing its sinewy body through the cold, dense water and thinking about you.

People commonly describe discoverers in antiquity as being scientists, but this is misleading. The scientific method and the modern discipline incorporating it has existed for less than 200 years. There have been many great minds before that time, but they practiced older disciplines for acquiring knowledge and were not actually scientists.

The great philosophers of the past were talented and accumulated a lifetime of experience and knowledge, gifting them with great insight despite how little evidence was available to them. Their philosophies were a product of their wisdom, and not the other way around. Some kids pursuing a degree in philosophy have little to nothing in common with these people. If anything they miss the point entirely.

We evolved from them, right? So why are they still here?

Wasn't sure whether to post this on /x/, but this was on a deep-sea creatures thread on /co/ last night, and nobody was exactly sure what it is, or whether it was real on not.

Any help /sci/?
