You don't debate these people with sensible arguments. You debate them by playing their own game. Don't waste time trying to show science to them, try to make them show science to you.

A good scientific hypothesis is falsifiable and provides predictions. Creationist models are generally neither of these. Just keep bringing this up again and again and see how angry you can get them.

To be fair, I can't imagine the LHC doing all that much at the moment. As far as I know, they shut it down during the winter as the electricity bills would be too high. They only run it during the summer when there's a lull in energy usage.
