So, what do I do with my BS in Chemistry?

Dear sci

Prior to this term, I was on the dean's list with a 3.9 GPA. This term, I took several variable calculus, differential equations, and real analysis concurrently. I also accepted a position as an undergrad TA leading 100 level math discussions which sucks up a huge amount of time (more than they pay me for), and I work as a tutor in a math library. I pretty much do math from eight in the morning to eight in the evening, and on weekends I grade. I find that, although each subject individually is not that challenging and I know core concepts very well, I just don't have the mental stamina to perform as well as I'd like - I get 80's on midterms. I'm starting to hate math. Sci, please don't ever do what I did this term. It fucking sucks to take three math classes and then work two different math jobs. On the other hand, at least I know that I'm not cut out for grad school.

Your friend,

Before you start, I'm not trying to get you all debating on the topic, I'm just giving you my view on the answer.

If you choose an answer to this question at random, what is the chance you will be correct?
A. 25%
B. 50%
C. 0%
D. 25%

I interpret the question as saying, one of those (25% (x2), 0%, 50%) is the answer you have a chance of getting if you pick at random.

As far as I can tell, you have a 50% chance of getting "25%", a 25% chance of getting "0%" and a 25% chance of getting "50%".

I have also interpreted this as not being a multi-choice question. The A. B. C. and D. "options" are just the information given so that you can give a proper answer. So if I saw it written as follows, then I would write my answer below the "trick multi choice", like so:

---------

If you choose an answer to this question at random, what is the chance you will be correct?
A. 25%
B. 50%
C. 0%
D. 25%

Answer:
50% chance I am correct if the answer is 25%
25% chance I am correct if the answer is 0%
25% chance I am correct if the answer is 50%

---------

So what's the problem here?

Hello my esteemed members of the /sci/ board on this gentile website of 4chan. I might or might not be 15 years old. I want to learn some more math because I'm not being challenged in the classes I'm him. However, the school system I'm in doesn't like kids skipping ahead. Their attitudes are that if you're put on a certain track, you stay there. I even went to my counseler and asked her if there were any opportunities, to which she replied "But look at you! You're already above average, and by Junior year you'll be so advanced! Just play and 'be a normal kid' over the summer!" I was too angry and dumbfounded to respond. Anyway, I have the rest of the summer and I want to learn Algebra II and then go on even through (or at least half-way through) PreCalc. Is this possible if I put in 4-6 hours a day using the Glencoe textbooks and Khan Academy?

Pic unrelated, but amazing.

Dear /sci/,
I would like to thank you for giving me a renewed love of science, more specifically astronomy, which has been repressed due to me being forced to attend strict religious schools (now a Junior in H.S.) As an individual who has received a miserably poor science and mathematics education over the years, where do I start? Will I be able to handle entrance-level astronomy classes at university without these skills, or should I begin teaching myself right away in preparation?

tldr; much love, advice on learning?

/sci/ I'm sort of confused as to how to answer this question...
Draw all of the graphs of y = a(x - b)^2 + c, where a,b,c =/= 0

Someone have an idea?

Hoe does one adquire self discipline /sci/?
Psychological and chemical advice
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Self_control
>>Many things affect one's ability to exert self-control, but self-control particularly requires sufficient glucose levels in the brain. Exerting self-control depletes glucose. Research has found that reduced glucose, and poor glucose tolerance (reduced ability to transport glucose to the brain) are tied to lower performance in tests of self-control, particularly in difficult new situations.

hi /sci/

I was a "TA"/student tutor for the natural sciences department for my community college last year and I had a student that asked if I could help him to prepare for the mathematics placement test for the community college. he called me up but I don't know what I should charge? should it be per hour or a flat fee? its going to involve algebra I, algebra II, some trigonometry and stuff that people should know before getting into college.
