1. Yes, absolutely. Universities keep bringing in foreign students for STEM programs for tuition dollars. Then tech companies lobby for them to stay and underpay them compared to native graduates. There are 11.4 million STEM degree holders not in STEM. Do the math.

2. Yes, my GF's brother has an undergrad in biomedical engineering from Yale. He's only makes like $45k a year as a lab tech and is too demotivated to branch out to do something better.

3. Yes, but remember Jordan Belfort (Wolf of Wall Street guy) had a Bsc in biology. Start thinking outside the box.

>Also I don't see the point of putting math and physics together with cs
It's to hide the fact that math and physics don't pay very well or have very many job openings despite being hard sciences, so they can continue pretending that that college grads are poor and jobless because they chose a non-hard science degree.

Threadly reminder for you delusional freshmen that you will literally earn more money putting up drywall on a construction site than you will as an engineer. There is a legitimate shortage of tradesman and an insanely overwhelming overabundance of engineers.

Everyone else in this thread are either high schoolers or college freshmen who have no clue about reality.

>Does /sci/ enjoy astrophysics?

/sci/ doesn't give a shit about any of the sciences, outside of what's in their course requirements. If you haven't guessed by now, it's a bunch of STEM undergrads, mostly failing at math (HOW DO I CALCULUS? ;_; ), who want to spend four years working so they can spend the next forty not working, and sitting in a cubicle playing Warcraft when the boss isn't around, which is almost always...engineers pretty much get carte blanche at every company stupid enough to trust them and their zero work ethic...

Unfortunately, their jobs are in a continual state of being exported to poo-tier countries, so their prospects and longevity at a given organization are shittier by the year...

Pic related. That's not a size comparison of the planets, lol.

>What happened to the shortage of STEM workers?
There never was one. People shill for it to bring wages down by having a labour surplus, and still outsource the jobs to Chinkdia anyway because it's still cheaper.

Daily reminder STEM practitioners get paid peanuts because it's saturated as shit. Don't like it? Well I guess I'll just have to hire one of the 10 million other qualified applicants.

>Not enough americans are graduating with STEM degrees and even less are actually going into STEM careers upon graduating. So companies hire foreigners that actually want the jobs and are "qualified". It all comes back to our shit education system.

The only STEM worker shortage we have is the one with people willing to work for 12 ding dong dollary doos an hour.

Make sure to bring alcohol for rubbing your hands. You will need it after you graduate and give hadn jobs for crack. You will stand there with your degree. And you will rub them hard and they will cum on your face. All for small change so you can get a cheeseburger at McDonalds. They wont let your kind in to a proper establishment.

http://www.nationalreview.com/article/378334/what-stem-shortage-steven-camarota

So the whole STEM shortage myth ended up fucking us in the long run folks.
People with shitty business majors are fucking outcapping most STEM salaries.
What the fuck is this.
>put in half the effort
>get double the pay

I think I might have to double major in business because of this shit.

Fuck this gay earth.
>be engineering student
>get out and be payed as much as the faggot who went to HVAC training for 6 months
