Also, the malice/hate and love are Physiological, meaning when you truly feel those emotions they are activating parts of your anatomy, and like the brain, if you use it more it becomes for robust, never use it and it atrophies, and if people avoid certain parts that their "phenotype" mainlines for stats then they will seek it out. (Battered wife syndome/drama seeking, seeking "thrilling" bad boys etc etc)
