I was just browsing the 'pedia and, what the fuck? The Proton's RD-275M engine is insane
>288s SL ISP
>1,671 kN thrust
>156.2 thrust to weight ratio
>1114 kN/m thrust to area
For reference, these numbers beat the Merlin in everything but thrust:weight.

I assumed that this engine was just yet another excellent staged combustion keralox engine, but nope! This thing runs on HYPERGOLICS. I honestly had no idea that hypergolics could get numbers like this. Makes me wonder why they aren't used more often considering the simplicity bonus they bring.
