is synthetic geometry and algebra logically equivalent such that the representation of abstract structures, be it two lines parallel to each other, can be considered a symbolic representation no different from utilizing variable in a system of equations? or is there a significant distinction between the two train of thoughts regarding sets of points and how intersection is defined? i ask because i'm concerned about where sub-disciplines of mathematics are redundant in the concepts that they attempt to define, and wish to refine what areas i should focus on in order to obtain better insight on the topic regarding geometry and algebra independently.

Textbook Thread, you know the drill. Rec top quality books and ask for recs.

Pic related is I think a top quality introductory geometry textbook.

Looking for a post-Hatcher Algebraic Topology book, and a good book on Lie Groups.

Seeing as how there are no good threads on /sci/ right now, how about a textbook thread.

Post books you found particularly useful or would recommend as great writings on a subject.

Pic related to start.

These threads usually go well
Rec textbooks / ask for recs

Specifically I'm a math student who wants to know physics, but doesn't want to go through freshman textbooks. What's the best 'physics for mathematicians' books?

Pic is highly recommended by the way

Post your favorite textbooks in this thread

Maybe I'm a math noobie but this one stood out to me as exceptionally educational
