It's not that hard - they're just relatively few among everyone who does CS

You'll find all sorts of mathematical backgrounds in upper div and graduate CS - schools just suppress this in their advertising statements to attract codemonkeys who just want to take the development oriented courses that don't teach them anything. They *should* push them out, but also it's free money. Meanwhile, only the good students will care about pic related, which is from a second semester on algorithms focused on asymptotics of recurrences using some complex analysis

Do people really not think CS doesn’t have math?

Actually, it’s more or less people like you. There’s a lot of interesting academic stuff in CS, like Gentzen proof systems, Type theories, Turing degrees and relativization, complexity theory, graphics processing, etc etc.. but people like you always say the same thing
>uhhh why do people hate cs? It can land you a job and money!
There’s nothing in your post that says anything about why someone should like CS, even though there’s plenty to like about CS.

People here hate CS as a proxy to hate people who share your mentality. You don’t see CS as anything but the ticket to a salary, and that’s fine, but you aren’t turning any heads, and you’re only reinforcing the stereotypes.
