Whatever you do, DO NOT learn Java or VB first. You'll be ruined for life.

If you quickly want to code something and run it (possibly line by line) learn Matlab first; you'll see the basics of how most coding concepts work. Otherwise start by learn C++ and put off learning about classes till you grasp most of the other concepts in the language.
